Director, Strategic Account Growth - Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)

 

SPAR is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director, Strategic Account Growth to transform long-tenured client relationships into high-performing, growth-oriented partnerships.

This is not a traditional account management role. This position is designed for a leader who can unlock untapped potential within existing accounts—combining sales acumen, operational insight, data-driven decision-making, and executive-level relationship management to drive measurable growth and profitability.

What You’ll Do

  • Proven ability to develop and execute growth strategies for strategic client accounts, driving revenue, retention, and margin improvement
  • Strong opportunity identification skills, including service expansion, new programs, and process or technology enhancements
  • Advanced negotiation and pricing expertise, with experience leading renewals and scope expansion
  • Executive-level relationship management with the ability to influence and build trust with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to lead impactful business reviews focused on insights, performance, and future growth opportunities
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience managing complex client challenges and escalations
  • Operational and process improvement mindset, with the ability to identify and implement scalable solutions
  • Cross-functional leadership skills, partnering effectively with Operations, Finance, Technology, and Client teams
  • Highly analytical, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and ROI-driven recommendations
  • Leadership and team development capabilities, with a focus on accountability, performance, and continuous improvement

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in strategic account management, client growth, sales leadership, or related roles
  • Proven success growing existing accounts through expansion, upsell, or transformation initiatives
  • Experience working with long tenured or complex client relationships (retail, CPG, healthcare, or similar industries preferred)
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills, with experience leading pricing, renewal, and scope discussions
  • Highly analytical with the ability to translate data into clear, client-facing insights and recommendations
  • Exceptional executive presence, communication, and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment across multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to operate strategically while driving execution and measurable outcomes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suites

 

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role operates in a professional office environment with a hybrid schedule (4 days onsite, 1 day remote). Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Physical requirements include the ability to sit, stand, walk, communicate, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs., as needed.
